Biography

Paul Bender is a maritime artist/illustrator specializing in Naval subjects of the Civil War and World War II. Whether it is a superbly detailed profile rendering or an action packed combat scene, Mr. Bender is noted for his technically accurate illustrations depicting historical actions and warships. The Artist also has a fondness for the everyday workboats and ferries found in the past histories of our harbors. Mr. Bender's artwork has appeared in numerous books published by The Naval Institute Press and Pictorial Histories Publishing Company. He has also illustrated articles for America's Civil War, World War II, and Newsweek magazines.
